Terms of use

The short version

Lord Guide Me is free. It offers spiritual guidance, not professional advice. Tips are optional and unlock nothing. If you tip in the app by mistake, you can ask Apple or Google for a refund. Nothing here takes away your legal rights.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the Lord Guide Me app on iPhone and Android, the app in your browser at lordguideme.org/app, and this website. They are between you and Harbourward Ltd (“we”, “us”), the company that publishes Lord Guide Me. By using Lord Guide Me you agree to them. If you live in the UK, you have legal rights as a consumer, and nothing in these terms affects them.

2. What Lord Guide Me is, and isn’t

Lord Guide Me offers spiritual guidance from a Christian perspective: Bible passages, explanations, stories, practical steps and prayers. It is not a substitute for medical, mental health, legal, financial or other professional advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number (999 in the UK). The Help page in the app lists crisis lines.

We work hard to keep everything accurate and careful, and where Christians genuinely read a passage in different ways, we say so. But we can’t promise that every explanation is complete or right for your situation, so please use your own judgement and seek proper help where you need it. The modern stories in the app are fictional; any resemblance to real people is unintended.

3. Free to use

Every topic, chapter, verse and prayer is free, with no adverts, accounts or subscriptions. We may improve, change, add or remove content and features over time, and we may stop offering Lord Guide Me altogether, though we hope never to.

4. Tips, payments and refunds

5. Using the content

You’re welcome to use Lord Guide Me for your own personal, non-commercial use, and to share individual verses and short quotations with friends, for example with the Share button. Please don’t copy, republish or sell our chapters, stories, prayers or pictures, or use them to train or build other products, without our written permission.

The text, stories, prayers, design and pictures in Lord Guide Me belong to Harbourward Ltd, except the Bible text, which is the Berean Standard Bible and is in the public domain.

6. Links to other services

Lord Guide Me links to outside services, such as helpline directories and Ko-fi. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content or how they work; their own terms and privacy policies apply.

7. Our responsibility to you

Lord Guide Me is provided free of charge, and we provide it with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for decisions you make based on its content, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

8. Privacy

The app doesn’t collect personal data. Our privacy policy explains what we do and don’t handle.

9. App Store users

If you downloaded Lord Guide Me from the App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies to your use of the app.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add features or the law changes. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date above.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
